چکیده

Objective: Examine the prevalence of common bacteria and their antibiotic susceptibility in individuals with urinary tract infections caused by indwelling catheters. Study Design: Cross-sectional descriptive research. Place Duration study: From January 30, 2021, to July 29, researchers from Department Medicine at Muhammad Teaching Hospital Peshawar, collected data for this study. Materials Methods: The proportion patients Enterococcus spp. infections2 was 5.4%, a 95% confidence interval 3.5% margin error using WHO software, they monitored 179 individuals. In addition, non-probabilistic sampling method based on sequence samples applied. Results: Based our data, median age 47 years old (with standard deviation ±2.15), 33% participants were male 67% female. Escherichia coli detected 37% catheter linked infection, Staphylococcus epidermidis 18%, Pseudomonas aeruginosa 16%, Klebsiella pneumonia 20%, Proteus mirabilis 3%, 6%. Conclusion: (37%) most prevalent bacterium found catheter-associated infections, followed (20%), (18%), (16 percent). Keywords: Infection catheter, catheterization, CAUTI.          Urine specimens collected from in-patients and out-patients in Urmia Imam Hospital, northwest Iran, were cultured on blood agar and Eosin Methylene Blue agar. Isolated bacteria were identified according to standard microbiological tests and then subjected to sensitivity testing according to routine method of disk agar diffusion technique. Out of 8044 and 10425 urine specimens, 8.7% and...
